The End Zone is open Monday-Thursday from 2:30-4:30.

First Semester:
End Zone opens on August 17
End Zone is closed on October 5 and 6
Last day of End Zone is December 16

Second Semester:
End Zone opens on January 11
End Zone is closed on March 11 and 12
Last day of End Zone is May 24

Occasionally the End Zone will be closed due to unforeseen circumstances. Staff will announce this to students via classroom announcement and sign.

The End Zone is a place for students to work quietly after school Monday-Thursday from 2:30-4:30. Students may work independently, receive tutoring, or work collaboratively in small groups.

Students must meet the following expectations:

1. Students must have an official End Zone pass to enter the End Zone after 2:30 pm.
2. Students must be engaged in one of the following:
   Independent work
   Silent reading
   Tutoring
   Collaborative work
3. Students may work quietly in collaborative groups of no more than four students. Groups larger than 4 are not permitted in the End Zone. 
4. Students may use their cell phones quietly. Distracting activities including making videos, listening to music/videos without headphones, and talking on the phone are prohibited.
5. Students wishing to leave the End Zone to use the restroom must leave their phone to get a restroom pass. Students should return within 5 minutes.
6. Students must be seated in a chair in designated areas only.
7. Students must sign out when they leave the End Zone.
8. Students may not eat or drink beverages other than water in the End Zone.
9. Students must comply with instructions given to them by End Zone tutors and supervising teachers.
10. Students failing to comply with expectations will be given a verbal warning. If students still do not comply, they will be asked to leave the End Zone
11. After being asked to leave on two separate occasions, students will be referred to administration. Consequences may include loss of End Zone privileges.

Peer tutoring is available in the End Zone. Peer tutors receive community service hours. Students are responsible for logging their hours using the school website.

Head Tutors
Students complete an application, references, and are interviewed by Nina Hidalgo in the Community School. Students are selected based on their level of responsibility, desire to improve the school and ability to help others achieve at a higher level. There are at least three Head Tutors in the End Zone each afternoon. Head Tutors assist with check-in and -out of the End Zone, scheduling tutors, and tutoring.
