Driving times are based on instructor and student availability and are scheduled on a first-response basis. We strive to complete driving with students within 120 days from course completion.

Students must complete the following BEFORE driving time can be scheduled:

• Successfully complete the 30-hour course.
• Pass the final exam.
• Log 20 hours of driving time with a parent and be comfortable behind the wheel.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

This course is available for ALL students and meets the Joshua's Law requirement.

Students should NOT speed through online modules. They MUST log 30 hours online in order to take the final exam.

Certificates of completion will be emailed within 2 business days of passing the final exam. There is no way to expedite the process. Please plan to complete the program at least 4-5 days before the driver's license test.

After we receive all the required paperwork, we will assign you to an instructor. The instructor will reach out to you directly to schedule driving time.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

This course alone (only driving) does not meet the Joshua Law requirement. 

This course is offered to students who have completed 30 hours of ONLINE Driver's Education.

GDEC Driver's Education Scholarship Program 

The Georgia Driver’s Education Commission offers the Georgia Driver’s Education Grant Scholarship Program to offer driver’s education to Georgia students.

Scholarship Info

• May only be applied toward a 30/6 driver’s education course (including both 30-hour classroom and 6-hour behind-the-wheel portions).
• The student’s parent/guardian must agree to complete forty (40) hours of supervised driving with the student.
• Scholarships must be awarded before the student begins the driver's education course.

Who can apply?

• Georgia residents, ages 15-17
• Must possess a valid Georgia Instructional Permit or Driver’s License
• Students enrolling in a 30/6 Driver’s Education Program.

YES! You must be present at ALL classes to earn credit.

You will need to bring a pencil, water bottle, and dinner or a snack.

$450 - in-person class plus 6 hours driving, $385 - 6 hours driving ONLY
Additional driving time may be scheduled for $65/hour.

Joshua's Law in Georgia requires all 16-and 17-year-olds to complete an approved 30-hour driver education course and 40 hours of supervised driving (including 6 hours at night) before getting a Class D provisional driver's license.

Core Requirements:

1. Classroom or Online Instruction - 30 hours of training through a high school, a certified private/public driving school, or an approved online program.
2. Behind-the-Wheel Practice - 40 hours of total supervised driving with a parent or guardian.
3. Night Driving - At least 6 of the 40 supervised driving hours must take place at night.
4. Permit Rule - Teens must hold a valid instructional permit for at least one year and one day before applying for a Class D license.

ADAP or Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program is a mandatory course that Georgia teens under 18 must complete to obtain their Class D Driver’s License, as required by law.

This course is normally taken during Health class at Peachtree Ridge High School.

If taken during the Summer Health & PE Course, the ADAP Certificate must be printed by the student at home after completing the course.
